Dock Leveler Repair & Installation
When a pit leveler stops rising, fails to hold position, or drops under a loaded forklift, your entire dock operation grinds to a halt. We service all brands and models of mechanical, air powered, and hydraulic levelers, replacing everything from springs, lips, and hinges to pumps and control panels, and we rebuild hydraulic cylinders. For obsolete units no longer supported by the manufacturer, we install retrofit conversion kits using parts currently in production. This keeps a well-built leveler in service and saves you the cost of a complete replacement.
We serve facilities throughout the South Florida Tri-County area: Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties.
Turnkey Pit and Leveler Installation
We build the complete dock in-house: demolition, pit construction and leveler installation. Demolition comes first, on day 1. On day 2 we set the rebar, pit frame angles and forms, then pour the concrete on day 3. On day 4, we strip the forms and install the leveler. A new pit and leveler is typically in service in under five working days.

Retrofits for Older Levelers
Older mechanical levelers such as the Kelley PowerPak are discontinued and no new parts are made, but they are well built and worth saving. When the spring loses strength and the deck stops opening, we retrofit it with a modern multi-spring or hydraulic conversion kit, using parts in production. We also convert hydraulic levelers to mechanical operation with a spring conversion kit.
Not Sure What Dock Leveler Is Right for Your Business?
- Mechanical levelers are spring-operated with a pull chain. They need no power and suit low-traffic docks.
- Air powered levelers raise the deck with an air bag and a fan, at the push of a button.
- Hydraulic levelers handle the highest traffic and the heaviest loads.
We install, repair and retrofit all three.
Mechanical Dock Levelers
Keep a dock working with no power at the leveler. A mechanical leveler is raised by springs: the operator pulls a chain, the deck rises, and then the operator walks it down onto the trailer bed. It is the lowest-cost of the three pit types and suits docks with lighter traffic. We sell and install new mechanical levelers, repair them, and retrofit older units whose parts are no longer made.
Air Powered Dock Levelers
Get push-button operation without hydraulic oil. An air powered leveler uses a blower to fill an air bag under the deck, which raises it; the lip then extends and the deck lowers onto the trailer bed. There are no hoses, cylinders or oil to leak. We sell, install and repair air powered pit levelers.
Hydraulic Dock Levelers
Handle the heaviest loads and the busiest docks. A hydraulic leveler raises the deck and extends the lip with hydraulic cylinders, driven by a pump at the push of a button, so the operator never lifts or walks the deck. We sell and install new hydraulic levelers and replace failed control panels. We also rebuild hydraulic cylinders, and supply and replace hydraulic pumps for all loading dock equipment.
Vertical Dock Levelers
Improve energy efficiency and security with vertical hydraulic dock levelers. Designed to stand upright in the pit when not in use, these levelers let your overhead doors close completely to the pit floor. The closed door helps keep conditioned air inside and dust, debris and pests out, cutting energy loss at the dock. They are a common choice for strict climate control in cold storage, pharmaceutical and food processing facilities. Contact us for sales, installation, repair and maintenance.
Loading Dock Bridge
Get the reach of a dock leveler without cutting a pit. A loading dock bridge bolts to the warehouse floor at the door with no concrete work, and stands upright inside the building when not in use so the overhead door closes tight to the floor. It spans the gap to the trailer, helps keep conditioned air in and pests out, and in its stored position helps stop forklifts from running off the dock. We sell, install, repair and maintain loading dock bridges.
Signs Your Dock Leveler Needs Service
- Leveler won’t rise to trailer height
- Lip won’t extend, or drops before it reaches the trailer
- Deck drifts down under load
- Hydraulic fluid on the pit floor
- Cracked concrete at the dock edge, or loose curb angle
- Grinding, banging or jerking during operation
FAQs
What types of loading dock levelers are available?
We offer mechanical, air-powered, and hydraulic dock levelers, each designed to accommodate different load capacities, dock traffic levels, and operational preferences.
How do I choose between mechanical, air-powered, and hydraulic dock levelers?
Mechanical levelers are ideal for low-traffic docks without power access. Air-powered levelers provide push-button convenience and low maintenance, while hydraulic models are best for high-traffic, heavy-load operations.
How long does a new pit and leveler take?
Typically under five working days, from demolition to the leveler in service.
How long do repairs take?
To minimize your downtime, we carry the most common replacement parts, so most repairs can be done the same day.
Are dock levelers customizable for different dock heights?
Yes. Pit dock levelers come in different lengths, widths and capacities, and a longer deck reaches farther above and below the dock. We size the leveler to your dock height and the trucks you receive.
How often should dock levelers be maintained?
We recommend regular inspections and servicing as part of our Planned Maintenance Services to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment life. High-traffic docks may require more frequent checks.
